The  Autumn/Winter ’14 London fashion week catwalks were bursting with inspiring makeup and hair trends this season. Take a look a my picks for wearable and easy to recreate, on trend winter makeup styles.

Makeup artist legend Charlotte Tilbury recreated this “left over makeup from the night before” look for the Tom Ford show, proving there is nothing quite like smokey eyes and nude lips for an effortlessly smouldering look.

To recreate: Prime the eyes and take a soft kohl pencil – rose&bird loves Mac’s aptly named  ‘smoulder‘ liner. Rim the eyes  including the waterline and tear duct, then take a cotton bud and smudge around the eye. Add another thin line pressed into the lash line and rim then finish with layered black mascara. For nude lips rose&bird loves Mac Luxe Naturale in Mineralize Rich.

The talented Lisa Eldridge created this modern take on 70’s glamour makeup (minus the blue eye shadow *relieved*) for Matthew Williamson’s show.

To recreate: Chose a deep shiny berry red lipstick, rose&bird loves Bobbi Browns Vixen Red. Wear with matte brown shaded eyes blended up to the brow bone, rose&bird loves Stila In The Know matte shades eye palette. Press more liner on to the rims and upper lashes finishing with a touch of gold on the inner corners of the eyes and plenty of mascara. Finally add a dusting of light rouge on the upper cheek bone and temple for definition and glamour.

Dolce&Gabbana sported classic Winged feline flicks, full brows and honey tinted lips and cheeks for their A/W 14 show. This look is beautifully versatile; lashes and coloured liner can be added for a more intense, edgier look.

To recreate : For perfectly defined brows rose&bird loves Smashbox Brow Tech To Go eye brow pencil and gel. Brush the brows then apply the pencil in light feathery strokes filling in any gaps, finish by brushing the brows again. Keep the eye lid neutral with a simple skin coloured primer then carefully line the upper lash line, don’t forget to flick!  Whether you’re a novice or an aficionado – mastering the perfect flick requires patience, practice and symmetry, a good easy to use liner helps too! For the ultimate ‘investment’ rose&bird seriously loves Laura Mercier Artists Luxe Liquid Liner, but for something a little  lighter on the bank balance try Maxfactor Glide and Define Liquid Liner. Finish with a flush of  Mac blush in Peaches and Laura Mercier Bellini gloss on the lips.

And finally… If you are looking to try something new this season, now is the time to embrace the pout and go for a matte red lip. There is a flattering shade of red for everyone, you just have to find it! Lisa Eldridge brought back the classic  ‘Addicted To Love’ look for the Grace show. She added a modern edge by taking it easy on the power blush and liner, opting instead for flawless radiant skin and fluttery upper lashes.

To recreate: Prep skin with Laura Mercier Radiance Primer then for  flawless skin rose&bird loves  ByTerry Cover Expert foundation. For the prefect red pout take a look at L’oreals new Colour Riche Pure Matte Reds collection and choose a shade perfect for your skin tone, use with a lip liner and apply twice after pressing tissue against the lips between applications for longer lasting pouts. Keep the eyes simple and neutral in terms of shadow and liner but add strip lashes to the upper lashes for extra flutter factor, rose&bird loves Ardell Demi Wispies for natural looking lashes.

Have fun recreating rose&birdians!
